In the past year’s software tools like Mailchimp, Dropbox and Pocket have become household names while services like WebEx and GoToMeeting have been the to-go tools for many people during home-office. All these products can be described as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), an increasingly growing market, expected to reach the 200 billion-mark by the end by 2022 (pre-COVID predictions). SaaS is a software distribution model in which a third-party provider hosts applications and makes them available to customers over the Internet. Together with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) they make up the three categories of cloud computing. Next week six EIC-backed SMEs are going to pitch their innovations to top-notch investors from all over Europe, aiming to become the next ‘go-to’ software or ICT-solution. Those interested in joining can do so by clicking the following link on 16 June, 1 pm (CET).
