News: From multiple events to visibility opportunities - here’s the FETFX project wrapped-up
Over the last two years, FETFX (pronounced “FET effects”) developed a cross-media communication platform, connecting science, industry and society, in order to tell stories on Future and Emerging Technologies and engage directly with the general public across Europe and beyond. The project is now coming to an end, but before closing its doors, FETFX prepared a video wrapping up its history. In less than 2min, the FETFX video shares testimonials from selected scientists and engineers on the legacy of European deep-tech and describes the European Innovation Council's plan to scale up disruptive innovation at an international scale. Discover the video below!
A lot has happened since the EU-funded FET programme was launched 30 years ago. It continues to develop game changing technologies grounded on high-risk, long-term, multidisciplinary and collaborative frontier research. Many are the fields in which FET research is shaping the world, including Information and Communication Technologies, Material Sciences, Physical and Chemical Sciences, Biotechnologies and Health, and Energy and Environmental Engineering.
In this context, the FETFX project has been key to share knowledge and engage different target audiences – the general public, policy makers, researchers and investors – around European Union (EU) funded deep-tech multidisciplinary projects (Horizon 2020 FET, EIC Pathfinder and EIC Transition). To conclude their journey, the project has released an overview of the main achievements and most valuable contents of FETFX in the format of an interactive storytelling PageFlow titled EIC and the Future of Emerging Deep Techs in Europe.
One of the main achievements of the FETFX project was the organisation of the Future Tech Week 2020, in collaboration with the European Commission. The week-long event aimed to foster the communication around visionary, high-risk and long-term research funded by the EIC under the EIC Pathfinder- FET programme as a driver for future breakthrough innovation.
FET-Open and FET Proactive are part of the Enhanced European Innovation Council (EIC) Pilot (specifically the Pathfinder). These programmes aim at bringing together the brightest European minds at an early stage of research to pave the way for innovations, radical new ideas and novel technologies that challenge current thinking.
