Incorporating sustainability in your business case is becoming more and more a necessity to succeed and grow. When it comes to climate action, every step counts and businesses play an important role in this green journey. With the new EIC Greenhouse Gas Programme (EIC GHG), the European Innovation Council (EIC) wants to support its community of innovators to reduce and offset their carbon emissions, while creating new business opportunities. On 21 April 2021, the EIC GHG Programme will be officially launched with an event that will outline its services. European corporates, regions, industrial associations, and fellow EIC peers reducing their carbon footprint will join and share their experience. And you? Are you ready to embark on your carbon journey?

Register here (applications are open until 19 April 2021).

‘Climate action is a business case’, the reasons to reduce your carbon footprint are manyfold; be it to save on your energy and resource consumption, to comply with current and future regulations on sustainability or to have better access to public and private investments & procurements. The EIC GHG Launching Event, taking place on 21 April 2021  9.00-12.00 (CET), will serve as a first introduction to the EIC GHG programme. Why should you join? What’s in it for you? How will reducing your GHG emissions help your business? All these questions, and many more, will be answered by industry leaders during this three-hour session.

With the new EIC GHG programme, which is open to all EIC beneficiaries, the EIC will offer the opportunity to participate in co-creation events to develop optimised, cost-effective products/services to reduce GHG emissions. Strategic partners, such as corporates, industrial associations, regions in carbon transition and others will be involved as your counterparts. On the other hand, the EIC will offer the support services, expertise, and guidance you need to map and consequently reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of your company.

Besides an overview of the programme and services, this launching event will have speeches and testimonials from high-level European Commission officials, including Jean-David Malo, Director of EISMEA and green-entrepreneur and EIC board member Yousef Yousef, and a roundtable discussion on ‘How reducing GHG emissions can impact business’ with contributions from EIC-funded companies, large European corporates, industrial associations and European regions committed to reduce their carbon footprint.

Should you have any questions regarding the event, please refer to our helpdesk (please select the category “EVENT - EIC Greenhouse Gas Programme – Launching Event” as the subject).
