The EIC is organising an EIC ePitching with Procurers event with Parkering Malmö on 30 September 2021. During the session, EIC-beneficiaries are invited to pitch solutions within the topic of smart cities, specifically regarding data analysis on parking spots occupation.
In this new series, we will discover what makes these corporates tick, what is their approach to innovation and what are they looking for. This month's guest is Michael Vormittag, Head of Innovation and Partnerships at Mercedes-Benz AG.
One of the key components of the EIC GHG programme is the GHG tool which will offer a carbon footprint assessment and propose mitigation measures for your company. On 16 July 2021, from 09.30-11.00 (CEST), we will host an introductory webinar, presenting the tool.

Imagine bringing together several European business partners, each with their own green challenges, involving many participants to solve them. This will be the EIC Greenathon, the first online hackathon focused on the European Green Deal. The Danish multinational Danfoss joined the initiative and will literally level up the energy of this competition. In the upcoming days, we will highlight the different challenges and introduce you to the business partners involved in the Greenathon with our new weekly series Green O’ Clock. Have you recently received a grant from the EIC Accelerator Programme? Would you like to discover more in-depth the European Innovation Council family and the Business Acceleration Services? On 29-30 September, the EIC Accelerator Unit will organise the second Virtual EIC Coordinators’ Day of the year, meeting the recently awarded projects. It will be an excellent opportunity for EIC beneficiaries that signed a grant in the last two calls to get familiar with the project management procedures, and to network with other European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator-funded SMEs. Phase shifters change the transmission phase angle of an input signal. They provides a phase shift to the signal by adding propagation delay and are the main building blocks of any beam steering capable system. Phase shifters are used e.g. in satellite communications, beamforming modules, phase cancellation, or communications antennas. SMARTWAVE project wants to take advantage of the re-configurability potential of high-frequency phase shifters and innovate them by proposing new technological approach, which meets the requirements of frequency scalability, increased power efficiency, reduced size and re-configurability.
Last week, 3 and 4 June, saw the kick-off of yet another new EIC-initiative, Planet.tech, an event focused on EU Green Deal-challenges. The online session brought together 28 EIC-backed start-ups/scale-ups with four large corporates, namely AB InBEV, Deme, Nestle and P&G, with the objective to develop a number of Proof of Concepts (PoC) and enhance the cooperation between start-ups/scale-ups and large corporates.
Since 2018, 3 June is known as the first official ‘World Bicycle Day’ to encourage the multiple environmental benefits of using bicycles for transport and leisure. Two days later, on 5 June, the World Environment Day takes place. To celebrate both dates, the EIC Community gathered three green Innovations that promote one of the most sustainable modes of transportation: cycling. On 3 and 4 June 2020 the European Innovation Council celebrated the launched of a brand-new initiative specifically focused on the EU Green Deal. The EIC Planet.tech brings together EIC-backed start-ups/scale-ups with four large corporates, namely AB inBev, DEME, Nestle and P&G, with the objective to develop a number of impactful Proof of Concepts (PoC).
For the very first time, the European Innovation Council organised the Coordinators’ Day virtually, meeting the companies funded by the EIC under Phase 2 in an online session. The purpose was to gather the EIC coordinators from the recently awarded projects, get familiar with the project management procedures and discover more in-depth the Business Acceleration Services.

The European Innovation Council (EIC), in collaboration with BBVA and Ferrovial, organised an online Corporate Day on 26 and 27 May 2020, bringing together 19 EIC-backed SMEs with over 50 corporates representatives. The online Corporate Day was the second event of its kind to be organised this month and gave SMEs and corporate representatives the opportunity to find synergies and explore business opportunities and further collaborations.
Every month the European Innovation Council organise an ‘EIC ePitching with Investors’ around a dedicated topic. On 14 May 2020 the theme of the session was Mobility & Transport, which brought together seven high-class EIC-backed SMEs with six investors firms. Transmetrics AD, a Bulgarian start-up, took home the prize for ‘best pitch’.
On 14 May 2020 12.00-1.30 pm (CET) the European Innovation Council (EIC) will host their 7th ‘ePitching with Investors’ of the year. This month’s session will revolve around Mobility & Transport, with seven EIC-funded SMEs gearing up to pitch their innovations. The EIC is pleased to invite all eligible startups to participate in our monthly EIC ePitching with Investors. This edition will focus on mobility and transport-related innovations and will take place on 14 May 2020, 12 pm CET, mark your calendars! A limited number of EIC-backed up SMEs will have the chance to show their innovative solutions in all matters related to mobility and transport via an online tool to a jury of investors –consisting out of representatives from Earlybird, Munich Venture Partners, Robert Bosch Venture Capital GmbH, Siemens Venture Capital, InMotion Ventures, Maniv Mobility and WBX Ventures.
Business is booming in the area of “nature-based solutions” and this includes early-stage impactful startups, but also mature companies that are using nature to create sustainable solutions for societal challenges. It has become clear that the current Global Warming is caused by greenhouse gases emissions like carbon dioxide and methane. And the burning of fossil fuels by industries is the main contributor to this. But Carbon Clean Solutions Ltd. is reducing industrial CO2 emissions with an innovative technology. The company is of one of the few startups in the world specialised in carbon capture.
