On 2 and 3 September 2020 the European Innovation Council and Evonik partnered up for a second time in little over two years, bringing another EIC Corporate Day to some of Europe’s most innovative start-ups and scale-ups. With the first edition, which took place in February 2019, focused on health and personal care, this Corporate Day was all about sustainability and circular economy.

Only two days left to apply for our very first Procurers Innovation Day. This event will take place in Dresden, Germany on the 4th of March and is open to all EIC-funded SMEs dealing with digitalisation and automated processes.

For the first time the EIC is collaborating with the German Association of Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME) to introduce your services to the Pharma Supply Chain Managers in company pitches, business speed dating and prescheduled B2B matchmakings. This workshop will take place in Dresden, Germany on the 4th of March and the overall conference takes place from 3rd to the 5th of March 2020. Applications are due on 31 January 2020.
After a thorough application process, 10 companies funded by the EIC Pilot and working on disruptive solutions in Healthtech, Digital Technologies and CleanTech won a spot at the stage of the European Venture Contest Final. 4 finalists came out on top at the 13th edition of the Tech Tour Contest.

CELLINK has entered in an agreement with the owners of cytena GmbH to acquire all cytena shares for a purchase price of 30.25 M€. The Freiburg, Germany – based venture specialises in single-cell printing technology. The deal will expand Cellink’s capabilities in both pharma and cosmetics.

Infarm, a Germany-based European Innovation Council pilot's funded company that distributes “modular farms” to grocery stores and other urban locations, has raised $100 million in a series B round of equity and debt funding led by Atomico, with participation from existing investors including Balderton Capital, Cherry Ventures, Astanor Ventures, and TriplePoint Capital.
Unlike fresh humus such as compost, stable humus makes a long-term contribution to soil fertility. It takes many years to form naturally - but now, for the first time, a manufactured granulate is available. And it’s a wrap! On 10 and 11 September over 850 top SMEs, investors, corporate representatives, researchers and influencers met to network and exchange knowledge in Berlin.
A total of 65 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) form 16 countries have been selected for funding under the latest round of the SME Instrument. The companies will receive a total amount of €113 million to share between their projects to get their innovations faster on the market.
On 2017, Heliox has received an order for a further 23 x 450kW Opportunity Charge System and 86 x FAST DC 30kW CCS bus chargers from Connexxion (Transdev), to power the largest single fleet of opportunity charged electric buses in the world.
