The European Innovation Council pilot's funded company InnovaFeed, specialized in the production of insect proteins, announced to have completed a round of 40 million euros, the majority in the form of capital, led by a group of investors by Creadev, the Mulliez family's fund, and Temasek, the Singaporean investment giant. These follow the historical shareholders of the company, including Accuracy partners and Olivier Duha, co-founder of Webhelp, in a total of over 55 M€ secured in 2018

European Innovation Council pilot's funded company Signinum Inovação, through XpectralTEK, has developed a multispectral imaging technology that allows to control pests and anticipate diseases in the vineyards. The technology is now being tested with Vinho Verde producers from the Minho region of Portugal.
The blog Valuer has curated a list of the top European AgTech startups utilizing data to ensure the future of food production is in the safety of technologically equipped growers hands. Scaling a company further is unforeseen on solving a number of challenges – most of those being common across all organisations out there. 96 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from 20 countries gathered to share their experiences during the EIC Accelerator Welcome Day. Some of them lost the fear of the camera and, during a small interview, shared with us their innovative approach, as well as current challenges they are facing in the industry. Last week the European Innovation Council Business Acceleration Services launched its Planet.tech challenge, a new initiative under its Corporate Partnership Programme. Physical events are shifting to virtual events and the European Innovation Council is also adapting to more online formats. 22 April 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, the annual celebration of the environmental movement. According to the official Earth Day site, the theme for this year's Earth Day is climate action. The mission is to encourage individuals and organisations around the world to continue moving towards innovation to face the climate crisis and seize the enormous opportunities of a zero-carbon future. But while this day is a 24-h celebration, many start-ups spend the entire year going green, with innovating projects to accomplish this goal. The European Innovation Council Business Acceleration Services brings together four Dutch Corporate giants (Eneco, KPN, Rabobank and Unilever) and invites you to pitch your company and discover business opportunities with them in a dedicated online EIC Corporate Day next 29 and 30 June 2020.
For the very first time, the European Innovation Council organised the Coordinators’ Day virtually, meeting the companies funded by the EIC under Phase 2 in an online session. The purpose was to gather the EIC coordinators from the recently awarded projects, get familiar with the project management procedures and discover more in-depth the Business Acceleration Services.
