The European Innovation Council Business Acceleration Services launches its brand-new exclusive Planet.tech challenge. This is a great opportunity for EIC SMEs to enhance cooperation with large corporates and co-create innovative solutions to a number of pre-determined challenges related to the European Green Deal, the European Commission roadmap to make EU’s economy sustainable.
The past five years were the five hottest years since record-keeping began in 1880. It has become clear that the current Global Warming is caused by greenhouse gases emissions like carbon dioxide and methane. And the burning of fossil fuels by industries is the main contributor to this. But Carbon Clean Solutions Ltd. is reducing industrial CO2 emissions with an innovative technology. The company is of one of the few startups in the world specialised in carbon capture.
Business is booming in the area of “nature-based solutions” and this includes early-stage impactful startups, but also mature companies that are using nature to create sustainable solutions for societal challenges. The project Connecting Nature is trying to explore this enormous potential by leveraging sustainable connections in this domain. Do you have a nature-based innovation? The EIC created a new Story 6 April 2020
We are all now spending more time online with tools that make remote work possible. Physical events are shifting to virtual events and the European Innovation Council is also adapting to more online formats. Tomorrow on 7 April 2020, from 14h00 to 17h30, an exclusive group of EIC-funded beneficiaries will gather in an online training event with a business coach to explore the full process of fundraising, present their case studies and get immediate peer to peer feedback. The European Innovation Council Business Acceleration Services and Veolia invite you to participate in our brand-new Planet.tech challenge. Veolia is leading a deep-rooted change towards adopting the circular, low-carbon economy through its mission ‘Resourcing the world’. With Planet.tech challenge, you can join forces with the multinational company and co-create innovative solutions to a number of pre-determined challenges related to the European Green Deal.
For the very first time, the European Innovation Council organised the Coordinators’ Day virtually, meeting the companies funded by the EIC under Phase 2 in an online session. The purpose was to gather the EIC coordinators from the recently awarded projects, get familiar with the project management procedures and discover more in-depth the Business Acceleration Services.
On 3 and 4 June 2020 the European Innovation Council celebrated the launched of a brand-new initiative specifically focused on the EU Green Deal. The EIC Planet.tech brings together EIC-backed start-ups/scale-ups with four large corporates, namely AB inBev, DEME, Nestle and P&G, with the objective to develop a number of impactful Proof of Concepts (PoC).
Since 2018, 3 June is known as the first official ‘World Bicycle Day’ to encourage the multiple environmental benefits of using bicycles for transport and leisure. Two days later, on 5 June, the World Environment Day takes place. To celebrate both dates, the EIC Community gathered three green Innovations that promote one of the most sustainable modes of transportation: cycling. On 3 and 4 June 2020 the European Innovation Council celebrated the launch of a brand-new initiative specifically focused on the EU Green Deal. The EIC Planet.tech brought together EIC-backed start-ups/scale-ups with four large corporates with the objective to develop a number of impactful Proof of Concepts (PoC). During the past three months, the start-ups and corporates have been working hard, with several very promising results. During the R&I Days 2020, Planet.tech projects will be showcased and presented to the audience. This upcoming week we will highlight several of these projects in the EIC Community, starting with P&G and 4FOLD foldable Containers (from Holland Container Innovations).
Imagine bringing together several European business partners, each with their own green challenges, involving many participants to solve them. This will be the EIC Greenathon, the first online hackathon focused on the European Green Deal. The Danish multinational Danfoss joined the initiative and will literally level up the energy of this competition. In the upcoming days, we will highlight the different challenges and introduce you to the business partners involved in the Greenathon with our new weekly series Green O’ Clock. Green roofs and glass, low-carbon materials, buildings that generate more energy than consume... Saint-Gobain wants to build the houses of the future and is looking for new practices that guide every link in the construction chain. This path to a greener tomorrow cannot be done alone: the French corporate is looking for EIC disruptors able to drive innovation and tackle sustainability challenges, and EIC Greenathon provides the best playground for this. Our clock is counting down the days and hours until our event... Keep an eye on the EIC Community to discover, one by one, the business partners joining our initiative.
